SBI PO Exam Pattern: Preliminary Examination 

• Preliminary examination is an objective type exam.

• Total marks of the exam are 100.

• Exam would be conducted online.

• Duration of Exam would be 1 hour.

• Prelims exam consist of 3 sections such as (1) English Language, (2) Quantitative Aptitude and (3) Reasoning Ability.

• There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

SBI PO Exam Pattern: Main Examination

The main examination of SBI PO is divided into two categories:

1. Objective Paper

2. Descriptive Paper

Objective Paper:

• Objective paper for 200 marks.

• Exam would be conducted online.

• Exam duration would be 3 hours consisting of 4 sections such as (1) Reasoning & Computer Aptitude, (2) Data Analysis and Interpretation, (3) General Economics & Banking Awareness and (4) English Language.

• There is negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

SBI PO Exam Pattern: GD & Interview

• Those candidates who qualify the main exam will be called for the GD/Interview Round.

• Group Discussion will carry 20 marks and Interview 30 marks.

Note: The marks obtained in the preliminary examination will not be added for the final selection, the marks obtained in main examination & GD/Interview will be added only, on the basis of main exam & GD/Interview, final merit list would be prepared.

Eligibility Criteria:

Candidates applying for the post of SBI PO need to comply with the following eligibility requirements:

• Age: Candidate must fall under the age between 21-30 years of age.
• Age Relaxation: Age relaxation for specific category of students are as follows:

Sc/ST- 5 years; PH- 10 years; OBC-3 years; and Ex-Servicemen-5 years.

• Educational requirement: Candidate must hold a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized board or university. Those appearing in the final term can also apply.

Selection Procedure for SBI PO Exams

conducted online. This test would be of 1 hour duration consisting of 3 Sections as follows:

Candidates have to qualify in each of the three tests by securing passing marks to be decided by the Bank. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank (approximately 20 times the numbers of vacancies subject to availability) will be short listed for the Main Examination.

Main Examination will consist of Objective Tests for 200 marks and Descriptive Test for 50 marks. Both the Objective and Descriptive Tests will be online. Candidates will have to answer Descriptive test by typing on the computer. Immediately after completion of Objective Test, Descriptive Test will be administered.

(i) Objective Test: The objective test of 3 hours duration consist of 4 Sections for total 200 marks. The objective test will have separate timing for every section. The candidates are required to qualify in each of the Tests by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.

(ii) Descriptive Test: The Descriptive Test of 30 minutes duration with 50 marks will be a Test of English Language (Letter Writing & Essay). The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are placed adequately high as per total marks in objective test.
